Sooryavanshi launches powerplay fireworks in Jaipur

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (51*) struck seven sixes and a single four to catapult the Rajasthan Royals to 76/1 at the close of the powerplay in their Tata Indian Premier League match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Jaipur on Saturday.
Pat Cummins, the Sunrisers' captain, won the toss and chose to bowl first, hoping to make good use of the conditions. Instead, it was Sooryavanshi who capitalised. The opener raced to a 15-ball half-century and his brisk start helped the Royals to maintain a high strike rate despite the loss of Yashasvi Jaiswal (10), dismissed by Eshan Malinga, in the third over. Sooryavanshi was with Dhruv Jurel (14*) in the middle after six overs.
