The 2019 British Open champion from Ireland had earlier birdied the par-five second, and the ace put him into a share of second on eight-under.

Lowry, who sank the putt that allowed Europe to retain the Ryder Cup last year at Bethpage, had his first Masters ace in 2016.

In the final round a decade ago, Lowry aced the par-three 16th hole.
